Who We Are

We are a new AAPI movement in Minnesota for Gender & Reproductive Justice. Our goals are twofold: to expand narratives around Gender & Reproductive Justice to reduce barriers, stigmas, and increase the kinds of care we have access to and to support our community
through direction action with an AAPI Gender & Reproductive Justice fund which will offer microgrants to those in need.

Our queer, SEA-led organization has years of experience in Reproductive Justice organizing and we’re excited to build new futures with our work.

Our Team

Our team is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about liberation and access to community-centered, culturally appropriate care. Leading by empathy and informed through our lived experiences, we take a holistic approach to our work, recognizing we can only build movements if we are resourced mentally, physically and socially with a unifying purpose of creating a world free of barriers and stigmas relating to Gender and Reproductive Justice.

Our Cohort

Our first-ever cohort formed in the summer of 2024 with a mission of expanding the vision of
who is impacted by access to both reproductive care and gender affirming care to reduce
stigmas within our AAPI community in Minnesota.
We met 8 times throughout the summer to learn more about Gender and Reproductive Justice,
our own cultural experiences, create community together, and craft our own Gender and
Reproductive narratives for our first publication.
Please reach out if you’d be interested in joining a future cohort!

“Being a part of The Paper Lantern Project cohort provided me a healing experience and personal lens into reproductive justice and gender justice. I truly loved the opportunity to be in community with other AAPI folks and sharing personal stories in a raw and vulnerable space.”

—Audrey T., 2024 Cohort Member
